There are several ways to travel to Miskolc:
1, By plane
International airports in Budapest (Ferihegy 1 and Ferihegy 2) and there is a smaller one in Debrecen.
Hungary’s international airport is situated in Budapest, called “Ferihegy-airport”.
It’s a big airport, you can arrive to 2 terminals: Ferihegy 1 or Ferihegy 2.
They are next to each other, but you cannot walk from one to the other. To get to the train station you can take a taxi, an airport shuttle or you can use public transport which is by far the cheapest way.
From Ferihegy 1 to Budapest-Keleti pályaudvar:
Take the bus number 93 and go till the last stop (called “Kőbánya-Kispest”).
From there take the Metro (called “blue” metro or “M3”) and get off at the “Deák Ferenc tér”. From there take an other Metro (called “red” metro or “M2”) and get off at the “Keleti pályudvar”.
From there you can take the train directly to Miskolc.
From Ferihegy 2 to Budapest-Keleti pályaudvar:
Take the bus number 200E and go till the last stop (called Kőbánya-Kispest).
From there take the Metro (called “blue” metro or “M3”) and get off at the “Deák Ferenc tér”. From there take an other Metro (called “red” metro or “M2”) and get off at the “Keleti pályudvar”.
From there you can take the train directly to Miskolc.
Another international airport is situated in Debrecen ( http://www.airportdebrecen.hu ) but it’s a smaller one.
