Background of the organisation:

03. 02. 2007 – A group involving 4 members was asked by proxy of the institutional Erasmus coordinator for organizing programs for foreign students.

28. 09. 2007 - Named as IASG involving 10 members a self-motivated group was established. The Student Self-government of the University of Miskolc registered this group formally. The structure became built up. President: Marcell Gyula Gáspár.

04. 03. 2008 – Participation in Diplomat Training Conference in Győr. First contact with the ESN-Hungary Sections.  The number of members: 12.

01. 05. 2008 – Participation as observers in the ESN-Eger-NP.

22. 04. 2009 – Process for becoming a formally received Section of ESN. The number of members: 15. 

17. 06. 2009  –  Writing of the Organizational and operational rules. New presidency working by international model. President: Dénes Kovács

Functioning within the confines of the Student Self-government (named in Hungarian Hallgatói Önkormányzat alias HÖK) as a self-motivated group. The actual number of student members: 15.

Activities: 

-          Orientation:

a.)    for incoming students (previously in Email and later personally by arrival)

b.)    for outgoing students (before their outward journey and after that if they needed more information during the abroad abstention in Email)

-          Searching for and selecting mentors

-          Organizing programs for foreign students

-          President’s participation in the institutional Erasmus Committee

-          Participation of our ESN-Miskolc group in the nationwide outing - called Erasmus Stork Camp - of Hungarian ESN-groups for every in Hungary staying foreign students. The fulfilment of this will be an important sign of the Sections’ concentration of forces.

Mentor system:

We have a mentor system that students at the institute help the incoming students and can join the programmes, which are made for incoming student. Every incoming student has a personal mentor, who was tested by ESN Miskolc.

The students of University have many opportunities to apply for being mentors; for example Email, Website, NEPTUN (our university electronic system), Department of Research Management and International Relations.

Information:

Our section is always at service to provide information for every inquiring, incoming and outgoing student. We provide information basically in English and in Hungarian, but among our members there are persons that speak English, German, French and Italian.

Short list of the by us provided information:

• The aims of the ERASMUS programme
• General conditions of participation in this programme
• Introducing the University and its system and introducing our ESN-Miskolc Group
• Exposition of programmes in the actual Semester

etc.

We verify that the university provides enough information.

Financial situation:

The university ensures financial sources for organizing programs, and the Student Self-Government contributes to the functional part. These make ends meet. 

About the Institutions:

We can have resort to the foundations of University and the Student Self-Governments of the faculties.

Co-operation with other student organisations:

We cooperate with the Student Self-Government of the University, because we are functioning within the confines of the Student Self-Government (named in Hungarian Hallgatói Önkormányzat alias HÖK) as a self-motivated group. We have successively contact with the institutional Erasmus Committee by the means of representation of our president.

Facilities:

We have no own equipment, but our group have access to the equipment (Projector, Laptop, Copier, Printer, Internet etc.) of the Student Self-Government of University (HÖK).
